About this product

Product Information

In Yars' Revenge, players take the role of giant mutant flies who eat energy shields and shoot them back as lasers against their enemies, the Qotile (at least according to the comic book included with the game).

Gameplay consists of flying to the right side of the screen, "eating" cells of the enemy's energy shield to clear a path to him, and then using the energy gained by eating the shield to summon the Zorlon cannon to fire a shot at the enemy. You can also gain energy by touching the enemy himself and by catching reflected shots from your cannon. But before you can call the cannon you must first return to the left side of the screen. To help you is a neutral zone that protects you from most enemy attacks but stops you from firing while in it.

Yars' Revenge has eight variations, including four for alternating players.

  • Good old school gaming.

This probably shows my age... The 2600 was my 1st console back in the 70s. Imagination was worked at a maximum back then but was really fun. This game in specific, turned my eyes watery and red several nights until my parents came to our room to disconnect the power supply and keep it until next day..... Really glad I found this still sealed...
