    Classic Rock Gold

    The Rock and Blues band, Ten Years After; paid their dues three times over, playing the dockside bars and dives all over England. Alvin Lee, the premiere Rock and Blues guitar player of his time often lamented how hard it was to get their third album cut. He often held that this difficulty was the primary reason that Ten Years After had not "made it" on the commercial music scene. In fact, the original album cover back side of "Ssssh" had Lee's comment on it, describing just how difficult it had been to cut that album. Caught between the "British Invasion" and the Haight Ashbury culture, Ten Years After finally found their niche within the Acid Rock crowd. Lee's comment about the material on the Shhhh album cover was indeed prophetic. It was Ssssh that launched them into their successful ...
