About this product

Product Information

This book first teaches learners how to "do" quantum mechanics, and then provides them with a more insightful discussion of what it "means." Fundamental principles are covered, quantum theory presented, and special techniques developed for attacking realistic problems. The book s two-part coverage organizes topics under basic theory, and assembles an arsenal of approximation schemes with illustrative applications. For physicists and engineers. "

  • Challenging math for a dormant intelligence

I have wanted to understand the mathematics of Quantum Mechanics for years but never penetrated the barrier. So finally I discovered this clearly written text that feeds the subject to you with a gentle spoon. It remains challenging because my brain has not been asked to comprehend such symbolic notation for many years. The journey will not be easy and the destination not final, but muscle will be retoned and the aches rewarded by the reassurance that results. If you are similarly inclined, hunt for a reasonably priced copy and begin your trek.

  • Good to have in introductory QM

This rating is not for its suitability as a text as I am not a teacher and neither is it the latest edition. I did like the way it was written and wish I could have encountered it as the average student I was when I encountered QM awhile ago.
