    Very good device

I'm really happy about the purchase. The picture, especially HD programs very good quality and the sound is really good (I'm using 5.1 home cinema system). The whole device and connection very easy to set up. The menu is user friendly and after a few minutes I learned how to use it. EPG does the job so I can easily schedule my fav programs to be recorded. It works smoothly without the glitch. The only thing I noticed when switch on it takes up to 1 minute to actually start working but it's not a problem at all. Strongly recommended product.

  • Most critical review

    Fantastic

The Humax is a great piece of kit it's a good quality picture and the features on it are great, the only criticism I have with it is that all the +1 channels are too loud and the volume can't be controlled by the hand set, and also some of the normal channels have the same problem. I use it through my Hi-Fi system and when you tune into those channels it's really loud and I have to leave my chair and adjust the volume manually which is a bit of a pain, but apart from that glitch it's a fantastic set top box and at under £70 it's well worth the money, I love the pause and rewind live TV function it's real handy for going to make a cup of Tea or Coffee so you don't miss a single second of time. Yes a fantastic box and I recommend it to anyone very pleased with it

  • Functionally OK and Value for money

I shall say that it is OK, Good price, so good value. But as my wife has an earlier model with better controls, that pulls this one down a small notch - slightly disappointing. Nevertheless, it works and was easy enough to set up, hence 4 out of 5.

  • Good Features even if some are too well hidden

The avctual item I bought works just as it should. Pros: Freeview Plus is a good advance giving almost seamless catchup TV Picture is good and clear Setup was easy Cons: If you have 2 Humax/BT devices there is no facility to alter the remote signal for the second unit. (for example Panasonic allow for this). No rear switch to fully turn off the device. (My BT Humax device has this switch). There is a Maintenance Mode but it is too well hidden. My unit as ine point kept recycling through the startup process. A Maintenance Mode restart cleared the issue immediately but it was quite an internet search before I even found there was such a mode.

  • Good all rounder

Very pleased with it. It's faster than our old Humax box and has all the same features but in a slightly different format. Picture quality is excellent as is the sound. Very simple to set-up. Slightly less channels than free sat but it gets all the important ones. All in all a very good product and would recommend to others.
