    Great student instrument

    The violin is a great value for a student. My daughter is 11 and has been playing the violin since she was 4. It was time for her to move up to a full size (4/4) instrument, and we chose VIF based on the recommendation of her teacher. We've only had it for a couple of weeks, but so far it has been a good instrument.

    Excellent Beginner Model

    I bought this with the intent to have it restrung and set-up properly. I have a friend that makes fiddles and was willing to check the set-up and put new strings on it. After doing so he said that it was pretty close before he touched it. I believe he worked a bit on the bridge and that was it. It sounds good for the money and more than I would expect out of a $100 fiddle. I plan to learn on this and progress into a better fiddle.
