      Lucy is not happy with her life. Her relationship with her sister is very difficult and she is bored with her work. And she is lonely! So when a distant cousin, Dido, dies she does to the island of Guernsey (where she was born and lived until she left for personal and professional reasons) to the house she and her sister have jointly inherited and helps her sister to sort things out in the house.
