GREAT for hard floors (tile/wood)! But not at all for carpet/area rugs! I thought that the head was powered (like an upright), it's not. It operates by the vacuum created, once the head hits carpet or area rugs, the rotation of the head stops and the suction won't allow the head to be moved without turning off the vacuum.
