Very poor tracking system. Must have app open and be near the product for it to locate on map.
Purchased these thinking all I had to do was attach them to a tool/ladder/box and would be able to track them anywhere. After getting them and installing them, I download the app and find out that the app must be open and running for the Tick to locate. So as long as the thief or someone close to the Tick has the One Key app running you can find it, but it does not constantly update it's location.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Awesome but....
These are great for inventory management as long as the employee that checks-out a specific tool has the one-key app installed and has a WiFi connection. Now You can walk a job site and find tools or equipment as long as you are within 100’ with your Bluetooth enabled phone or tablet. I feel that these ticks are a little expensive.

I like the concept, but in order for this to work, more people need to download and run the milwaukee one key app. I attached a tick to a couple of cars, set them as "missing", and drove from stockton to San Francisco during rush hour, NO HITS. They need to advertise this product. I work in construction and most of the people I know have never heard of one key. Tough but not impressive
These are clearly heavy duty, very water resistant, well made devices. Functionally they're unimpressive. They work via Bluetooth, so tracking only occurs when they're within Bluetooth range, the Bluetooth connection to a receiver is complete, and location on that receiver is activated. So many variables. They'll function if you intentionally want them to, but in the event of theft or loss, they're not likely to track. It also only maps a location last tracked, not a path of tracked locations. Therefore you may only get a location days old with no indication of any activity between tracks. It seems there's real potential for the item, and if the electronics were made to the same standards as the case, I'd buy many more.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

False security
Seemingly a good Idea at first unfortunately, is more a deception than anything else at least at the moment. Maybe in a near future they can make it more accurate and detectable without the app restrictions. In my opinion it’s not worth the money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
