    This is a good book for beginners and for basic instruction in identification classes and field trips. It is a book and won't break when it is dropped or shoved in a back pocket and it is cheap. For more comprehensive use everyone uses a digital device now.

    This edition is a very comprehensive field guide that easily fits into a standard medium-sized belly pack. The artwork is very accurate and helpful in the identification of our avian friends. The book content is very intuitive to follow. I strongly recommend this book for field identification.
