    Pretty but basically useless

    While the product is generally solid and well-made, it really does not function very well and some components are flawed or missing. For example, the striker is not solidly attached to the shaft meant to turn it which allows the shaft to rotate without moving the striker. Also, there is nothing to secure the external rod within the mechanism. The result is the knob and attached shaft pulls out quite easily. Nothing to secure it. I managed to make sufficient repairs to make the doorbell functional (for now) but considering the cost of this product, and the fact that it is non-operational, as shipped. I would recommend it as a decorative element only.

    Just okay

    Cosmetically appealing, and works well enough for an occasionally-used residential installation. Cheap metal feels like it will fatigue and break under commercial it frequent use. During installation, the head of one of the mounting screws broke off even though I drilled a pilot hole.
