Following the adventures of Candide, a hapless young man motivated by a boundless optimism which leads him into all manner of adventure, the comic opera is presented here under the direction of Lonny Price (A CLASS ACT). The cast includes Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Kristin Chenoweth, accompanied by the Westminster Symphonic Choir; Paul Groves, Stanford Olsen, and Sir Thomas Allen complete this stellar cast of Broadway stars. A favorite of musical comedy, the fantastic score includes such songs as "Life Is Happiness Indeed," "It Must Be So," "You Were Dead, You Know" and "Make Our Garden Grow." The lyrics were composed by eminent authors Lillian Hellman, Dorothy Parker, Stephen Sondheim, Richard Wilbur and John La Touche.
