Synopsis
Over two million copies sold! The triumphant true story of one courageous Christian woman who became a militant heroine of the anti-Nazi underground. "I pray that God forgive them..." Corrie Ten Boom stood naked with her older sister Betsie, watching a concentration camp matron beating a prisoner. "Oh, the poor woman," Corrie cried. "Yes. May God forgive her," Betsie replied. And, once again, Corrie realized that it was for the souls of the brutal Nazi guards that her sister prayed. Both woman had been sent to the camp for helping the Jews. Christ's Spirit and words were their guide; it was His persecuted people they tried to save--at the risk of their own lives; it was His strength that sustained them through times of profound horror. Here is a book aglow with the glory of God and the courage of a quiet Christian spinster whose life was transformed by it. I have received this order a few days ago, well before the earliest promised delivery date. The item corresponds to the seller's description: it is in "like new" condition. The transaction was seamless.I am completely satisfied with this purchase. The only peculiar aspect is that I wrote to the seller several times, both before and after ordering, and never received a response. This is at odds with all reviews of this seller.

Excellent transaction. Fast delivery. Securely packaged in a poly-mailer for shipping. Good communications from the Seller. Very good price. Seller was very accurate in describing the condition of the book --very good-- in his listing.. I am picky about a book's condition, and I would rate the book as between "very good' and "like new." Very satisfied customer. ...Thank you!!

    Fantastic Insirational book

I love Corrie Ten Boom. She is a great testimony to the Christian faith. Have read this book at least twenty times as I bought my first book several years ago and was completely worn out. Was so happy to find this new one at such a great value. I plan to read it twenty more times. It makes me much more grateful for what I have in this country.

  • Classic book

I purchased this book for my 8th grader to fulfill required summer reading. I had also read the book as a young person. It is of interest to all who want to understand history, particularly WWII, and the short- and long-term effects of socialism on the group targeted for persecution, as well as those who help the persecuted. It is a serious topic, written honestly, and with a focus on how Christian love can help to overcome extreme difficulties in our lives.

  • Exceptional piece of history

I wanted to reread this old book. I was so glad to find it on eBay. Great value. As I read it, my granddaughters are asking about it. So glad to spark their interest in true history. They want to read it along with my copy of Anne Frank’s Diary.

  • Inspiring

I've read this book at least 20 times and I appreciate something new each time. While there are enough details about the holocaust and the camps for the reader to understand the situation, the main story is one of sacrifice, humility, and triumph. Cornelia ten Boom's story is timeless. Lessons learned from these terrible circumstances are easily translated into relevant lessons for today.

  • Should Be Required Reading

This is a great introduction to World War II for those who hate learning history but like exciting true adventure stories. This should be required reading in schools. It really helps me to appreciate my freedom and how good I have it here in America. For about 7th grade and up.
