"Parliament/Funkadelic Could Not Be Ignored"
In the mid to late 1970's, this new and unknown group - Parliament/Funkadelic, could do no wrong! They drowned the public with what became well-known as "P-Funk!" For me, initially, it was weird, and unheard of.
It was my buddy, Teddy, who introduced me, and opened my ears to the genious, behind it. After a briefing, I couldn't ignore the fact that - I like it! Many, liked it!
My favorite on this lp/cd, is "Aqua Boogie"! In late 1978, in the Army (Huntsville, Alabama), I walked into a club with 5 others, and I'll never forget how that song, crowded the dance floor like a celebrity pool party!
Honorable Mention... I extend also to: Evelyn 'Champagne' King's "I Don't Know If It's Right", Chuck Brown & The Soul Searcher's "Bustin' Loose", Rod Steward's "If You Think I'm Sexy", Bell & James "Livin' It Up (Friday Night)", and last... Instant Funk's thumpin', "No Stoppin' That Rockin'"! Who today, can come close?!
They don't, and probably won't make music like this anymore. When they started with "Give Up The Funk (Tear The Roof Off The Sucker)", I knew there was something unique about this band. Ol' George Clinton, William "Bootsy" Collins, Gary, Glenn, Mr. Worrell and the rest of that crew, were one of a kind!
If you love'em like I do, as well as the entire entourage, make it--and the other classics--apart of your rare, oldskool collection, while you still can. Dated: 12/15/16 2:44pm, EST
