    Old unit kept binding and stopping. Turns out the rubber drain protector was rotting, chipping away, getting caught in the grinder, and ceasing. While cranking it underneath with the allen wrench, I noticed water dripping very slowly. The entire case(!) was rotting also. Unit was ~33 years in place, so guess I'm happy. New unit was an easy remove and replace. NOTE, DO NOT knock out drain plug unless using auto dishwasher with new unit.

    planned obsolescence !!!!

    product has a three year warranty and abut thr fourth year the bottom rusts out and you have to replace it! have had four overn the nlast 25years and have become a pro at replacing them!!!
