His work marks the transition from Romanesque to Gothic. He moves from the solely symbolic to the natural, just as the Tarot moves from archetype to individual human experience. For example, Giotto was the first artist to paint the sky blue instead of gold. Drawing on this important artistic style, Zibordi, an Italian painter and expert in Medieval art, creates for us an exquisite deck celebrating Giotto's work and the spirit of Tarot. The companion booklets for most Lo Scarabeo decks are in five languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, and German.
