    Small and unassuming yet packed with features

    My new Nest E thermostat is everything I wanted it to be. Installation was easy using just four wires on my forced air gas furnace with central air. Because the old thermostat was mounted to a box in the wall, I had to purchase a mounting plate in order to properly mount the new stat. No control wire was present or needed. Setup was easy and the learning feature works fairly well. The display on the face of the thermostat is normally off until it senses someone approaching it. It is easily controlled manually or by application. I know the way the Nest thermostat controls the temperature while home and away will save us on our heating and cooling costs. This is an excellent buy.

    Still not sure

    I had a lot of problems getting the thermostat set up. Nest needs to develop a good installation and operational manual and put it online for help. I used their chat line about six times and only found one of the technicians that was able to help me get things going. I have also found that there is a difference in sensing of temperature between the nest and my old thermostat which was also programmable. We used to have it set at 72° during the daytime but 72° setting on the nest thermostat made it cool and we had to move it up to 74° to get the same comfort.

    The ‘E’ is a nice Nest product

    The Thermostat E works the same as any other Nest thermostat with the added benefit of having an all white casing, including a white frosted screen/lens/display on the front. The display has a white face but still allows the full color readout to shine through from behind. This produces a cool effect when activated. Functionality is great. The ability to set a schedule, or multiple schedules, is nice. The thermostat also monitors your activity and will adjust daily temperatures based on assumptions made during manual usage. The app is very easy to use and can access most of the same functionality that is found in the thermostat itself. The Home/Away function in combination with the built-in occupancy sensor allows the Nest to monitor the locations of any resident mobile phones where ...

    Good solution at a reasonable price

    I have a simple heat system and I need to be able to determine if the heat is functioning when I am not home for many days or longer. This is one of the few I could find which will fill that need. I installed it in 30 minutes with complete ease and have had it running for two weeks or more without any issues. Make sure to read the Google Nest compatibility guide or check out U Tube for videos to make sure the Nest "E" meets your need and is a suitable solution for a change out. There are something like 3 generations of Nest Thermostats. Last point - there is a charging port on the back. Charge it for a few hours before attaching it. This ensures the battery is completely charged. If it is low on charge, it might not energize and it appears you have a problem. That was the case on ...

    Really great

    I bought two Nest E + Google Home Minis. I set all of them up in minutes and the work perfectly. I am rather amazed and surprised. As an Apple fan, these products really put Apple to shame at how useful and powerful they are. They put a smile on my face and exceeded expectations. Google Home is particularly good at hearing natural language and quickly executing its task. UPDATE************************ I still am happy with the Nest E, however, the fact that it doesn't integrate with HomeKit is a bummer! I was well aware of this when I purchased but now that I've had 4 Nest E's for a month, I am pissed that Google is playing games with consumers. I probably should have bought 4 Ecobee 3 Lites.
