    Brett is fabulous as Sherlock Holmes

    This Adventures dvd set is the first in the series starring Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes. Having seen most other actors play Sherlock back to Basil Rathbone, I was recommended to try Mr Brett's version, and I must say he is a delight and truly the quintessential Holmes. Each show and unfolding case is thoroughly enjoyable, you will find this a terrific dvd set that is highly entertaining

    Sherlock- True to books.

    I have watched some Basil Rathbone Sherlock movies, but felt that they were not true to books. Watson was portrayed as too comedic.I have watched one or two Robert Downey, but they have been modernized. I have purchased a Sherlock Holmes book and find that these DVDs are most true to the original. I still have other versions to investigate, but I like these best.
