    Great addition to smart home!

    Did some research and this was rated among the top locks. I really wanted a lock with a keypad on the outside but found I could get a separate keypad for this and mount it near the door. Works like a charm and now I'm down one more key and can give codes and control access to anyone I want!

    Doesn’t work and

    First, it wasn’t compatible with my existing dead bolt lock. Had to purchase a new lock. Then when installed it would not function. I have a mesh wifi system so its not a connection issue. App does not lock or unlock, app location function doesn’t work. HomeKit sees lock and will receive notifications but it will not function with HomeKit. August tech support has been reasonably responsive- typically 24-48 hours, which isn’t great in my opinion but it is within their window. But they could not resolve and at this point have given up and left me with a useless device. Batteries last about 3-4 weeks too. I have a pretty complex smart home so not operating from beginners knowledge and this is the first device that has been total trash.

    August Wi-Fi Smart Lock 4th Gen with EU cylinder.

    High quality, With the experience of one week with a little amount of locking activities, the battery loses 1% every day. I'm using it with EU cylinder, this requires some adjustments to the adapter. Also, EU cylinder provides double locking (turning the lock twice) which isn't supported with this lock. So far I'm happy with this device.
