About this product

Product Information

This large aperture 30mm F1.4 EX DC HSM lens is designed to match the APS-C size image sensors of digital SLR cameras. Two SLD glass elements are especially effective in the compensation of magnification chromatic aberration. Glass mold aspherical lens at rear group of lens reduces color aberration and provides high-quality image results. From 40cm (15.7") minimum focusing distance to infinity, this lens creates very sharp images with high contrast. The HSM models provide quiet, high-speed, auto-focus shooting, as well as full-time manual focus. Large maximum aperture of F1.4 can perform superbly in a great range of applications, including snapshots, portraiture, indoor shooting and landscape photography.

I pretty much always buy my used gear from Japanese shops. The Japanese take much better care of their gear. This store very carefully packed my lens. They described it exactly. They very well photographed it. It was fairly priced they shipped for free fromJapan. The store went many steps above necessary to keep in contact with me after the sale. I have saved this store as one of my favorites and everyone else should.

Great lens but has one drawback

The auto focus os very noisy. If you plan on using it for video, you need to know that. I use lav mics so its not a big deal but know that it would be impossible to use this lens for video/auto-focus with the onboard mic. Way too noisy.

  • SUPER value for crop sensor cameras.

A very good lens...This is NOT the Art,Contemporary or SPORT model....you can NOT use the NEW docking station with this lens. That said, you really don't need it with this lens. Sharp, fast, and a solid build. The second hand price, is fair, and a great value for crop sensor cameras.

  • Great lens Low cost

This is a great “normal lens” for cropped sensor cameras like the Rebel or 70D. Very sharp and quick to focus.

  • Best fixed lens so far

I'm not a professional, but I take a lot of pictures of things I have for selling. I don't like the common 50mm lens because it seems too much zoomed on a crop sensor camera, especially for filming, so a 24 or 30mm are the best choices for me, and this lens can do amazing works under sunlight or dark enviroments. I was choosing between this and the ART model, but I saw reviews comparing them, and didn't think the price make it for the difference, because, as I said before, am not a professional.

  • Great lens...it's the "crop frame 50mm"! Sigma nailed it with this one. GREAT IQ corner to corner at all apertures...no vignettig. Fast AF in low lite

Oh...that was my review. Oops ⤴⤴⤴⤴⤴
