    No wonder he's a favorite!

    I once read where Jeremy Brett was one of the best placed actors for Sherlock Holmes. We was wonderful in both series and played equally well with both Dr. Watsons - David Burke, the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and Edward Hardwicke, the Return of Sherlock Holmes. What a wonderfully entertaining character. I do believe, though, that The Return of Sherlock Holmes I enjoyed even more than the first collection of stories. The scenes taken in the wonderful countryside of England, the lovely buildings (whether on a grand or small scale), and story line is captivating and draws one into that period of time. So glad these are a treasured part of my DVD collection.

    I followed this series back in the mid 1980's for the first season and really enjoyed it. Now that I have time I wanted to catch up and see the ones I had missed these are great entertainment. The set was delivered on time and in near perfect condition. No complaints very happy!

    The game, is most certainly afoot!

    These reasonably faithful adaptations of the Conan Doyle canon are most enjoyable. Edward Hardwicke may just be the best Watson yet, And needless to say, a Jeremy Brett doesn't come along every day, to breath life into our deductive hero. It's been said that some people are just born to play certain characters. Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock, Henry Winkler as the Fonz, and most certainly one can add Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes. the rest of the supporting cast each episode do an admirable job bringing the stories to life. On top of that the production values are all top notch. A most superior series overall, and possibly the best Sherlock Holmes series out there today. Bravo!
