    A solid piece of Hollywood entertainment, even after 25 years! Recommended!

    Really good story, good acting, and amazing special effects. I think this movie made more Americans look seriously at what firemen and fire departments actually do from day to day, often for the very first time. De Niro always really becomes whoever and whatever he is playing. Kurt Russell is always a strong physical and character presence, and Donald Sutherland is really great in his cameo role as the imprisoned pyromaniac. This movie was made some years ago now, butt still holds up very well. Exciting, entertaining and really educational at the same time. The sex scene (two on a fire truck) was funny, sexually titillating, but very well integrated in the total story without being unnecessarily graphic or heavy-handed.     It is good enough to watch more than once.

    This is a great story. It keeps you guessing who is starting the fires. I really enjoyed "Ronald", his part is played well especially the facial expressions. I saw this movie years ago and decided I would like to own it.
