  • Frog Stomp

Great album considering they were only 15 years old at the time. I doubt there are any 15 year olds these days that could do the same. I expect they’re all too busy being offended or playing xbox.

  • Frogstomp

Ive owned this album for years, recently cracked my own copy and was heartbroken so ii got my grubbers on a new copy and fired it up for old times sake.Frogstomp is valiant first effort from aussies silverchair, full of good riffs and powerful voocals, especially considering the age of the member at time of recording.Nirvana and pearl jam influence may ring out in some parts of the album, but it still original and well written. Best song for me would be the hit tomorrow, well constructed and quick changes between heavy riffs and soft acoustic, delicate leads make it a good song. A close second would me leave me out,the main riff is one slugely heavy muthaf**ker, and it never gets old. all in all a very strong album, and silverchairs best.

  • Rocking.

Being a big fan of bands such as Nirvana, the Vines, Nine black alps, Reuben etc I had to ask myself why on earth I had not purchased a Silverchair album! After hearing a few songs of Neon Ballroom I had to hear Frogstomp which is silverchairs debut. suitably raucous guitars and vocals opitimised on 'pure massacre' there are also tender moments such as on 'shade' with a wonderful guitar solo and also on the opening couple of minutes of 'suicidal dream' which is also deep in melancholy. Daniel johns pays heavy tribute to Mr Cobain on alot of his vocals which is no bad thing emphasising rasp and screams in suitable rock fashion. I love the way the pacing picks up in some of the songs which is unusual, the dynamics of the songs remind me alot of those 70's metal bands such as black ...

  • Silverchair - Frogstomp

Silverchair's debut album, Frogstomp, faithfully follows the alternative rock tradition of Nirvana and Pearl Jam, which means that the group of Australian teenagers winds up sounding not like their idols, but like Stone Temple Pilots and Bush. For their age, their instrumental capabilities are quite impressive, as the guitars and vocals growl with the force of rockers in their early 20s. At the same time, their songwriting abilities aren't as strong, and they are never able to break away from the standard grunge formula. Nevertheless, the record does deliver a collection of songs replicating the thunder of "Tomorrow."

  • Silverchair - Frogstomp

never heard of these guys before but heard that they were good. put the cd in the car and was blown away by the first track. the whole cd is just awesome. thumping riffs and good vocals too - no sreamo thank god. if you have a few quid to waste and want something a bit different, buy this album.
