As described and very realistic, has been a good deterrent and has not blown over in the recent strong winds, even though there is nothing to pin down the legs with. The central "fixing pole" is white which on reflection could have been grey to better fit in with the birds body colour, I also had a debate with myself on how best to fix the pole, I have used the central hole rather than affixing to the position highlighted as in doing this the legs did not touch the ground? This is not a "decoy"
I purchased this item on your recommendation that it would discourage the vistis of herons to my large pond. Two days after I placed your "decoy heron" in position a large heron flew in and took up position immediately alongside your decoy and began its fishing. It flew off when approached it and clapped my hand. This scario was repeated over the following two weeks. So now your plastic so-called decoy has been dumped at our local recycling centre where it now resides on their roof - possibly to invite any passing heron to drop in. Might be more effective if a bit taller
Have had a heron land close to the decoy since we installed it and the real one was clearly taller than the model, despite the fact that I mounted the decoy with its feet a few inches above ground level. It is a reasonable replica but I wounder whether a slightly taller version might be more effective at repelling our feathered friend.

'Aint foolin' anyone
The plastic bird is very good and looks realistic standing by my pond. However, a real heron walked past it and only was kept back from my fish by the layer of ice on the pond. Maybe at that cold time of year the real heron wanted company!
