Does what it promises
When my washing machine started to sound like a bird scarer, I thought I was going to have to lift up the floorboards to secure a loose water pipe. That would have cost me a lot of money in redecorating, so I decided to give this gadget a try first. I was pleasantly surprised. There's now just a muffled 'bump', audible when in the same room, when the washing machine valve closes instead of the alarming 'kaboom-rattle' that used to be audible throughout the house. Fitting is fairly easy, although the ten minutes promised on the label is a bit optimistic. First you need to drag the washing machine out of the way, turn off the service tap, find a bucket, unscrew the flexible hose and drain it into the bucket. Then you screw the arrestor onto the tap outlet, using a pipe wrench to compress ... No special skills required, just a bit of elbow grease. The gadget looks well-made, externally all metal apart from the rubber washer, so I'm hoping it will last as long as the washing machine. Well worth the money.

Bought this to try solve loud water hammer on my samsung ecobubble… Sadly no joy. I’m now thinking I might have some loose pipe work so I’m thankful for that… Still I think this item is very overpriced when there are EXACT same versions on ebay. For months I had been concerned about the pipes vibrating when the washing machine was being used. It was also getting worse and I did not know what to do to prevent the problem. I was also concerned that eventually the joints may come apart and cause a flood. Then I heard about installing a damper. I checked this out on line and discovered the Sioux Chief. I can't praise it enough. It has completely resolved my problem and was straightforward to fit. Really easy to fit, took less than 10 minutes. Turn off dishwasher tap - disconnect hose - fit Sioux Chief - refit hose - turn on dishwasher tap - job done. Best of all the dreadful banging from the pipes has GONE! Had my doubts but it really does work. Highly recommended if you have banging pipes from water hammer. Just wish I'd found this product years ago.

Fix the pipe hammer when washing machine finishes filling
The electrical water supply valve closes very quickly which causes a pipe hammer (banging) in the system as the pressure shock goes through the pipework and can cause leaks. This device has a pressure relief system which absorbs the pressure so no more banging or possible damage. Brilliant!!
