The installation was straightforward, though not as stated in the Instruction Sheet. In our case, we found the DVD did not automatically load, but we got it by going by clicking on "My Computer", clicking on the correct drive and opening it. All the files on the DVD are revealed. We clicked on the .exe icon, and the whole thing burst into action. From then on it was easy, and none of the questions asked were difficult to understand: not even for an "amateur". Also, we inserted the codes AFTER the system was installed...and it still all worked correctly. This £10 DVD saved us scrapping a perfectly good (and barely used!)Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop that was on Windows Vista....an action which most of the "Experts" (including the guys at Toshiba!) had suggested was "The only thing that can be done" now that Microsoft are no long supporting that system. We had backed up on to a Trekstor 1 TB hard drive, but we have not found it necessary to re-visit it, as ALL the files AND the pictures were saved automatically on to the Toshiba's Hard Drive. Absolutely Excellent!Read full review

Windows 7 brought my very old laptop to life. It installed very easily following the instructions given which came with the disc, setup was easy and the product key was easy to read. The operating system accepted about 220 update and still works fine.

PCs still running Vista get more useful life from Windows 7, and business users will likely want to stick with Windows 7 rather than risk Windows 10.

Everything went very smoothly. One point. In the directions where they say not to enter product code until installation is completed, they should tell you to skip. I know what I'm doing, others may not. Just a small point. Other than that, all good.
