It's made of chrome plated brass, so hopefully it won't snap in half like our old one, that appeared to have been made out of a mixture of monkey metal and cream cheese! If you want to nip up the plastic nut just slightly more than hand tight, then one inch imperial is the spanner size you need : )

As other people have already commented it was very difficult to get the glue off the lid having removed the RAK sticker even when using proper sticky stuff remover but that's a manufacturers problem and no reflection on the good service provided by this supplier.
