Many people do not like the large, padded putter covers because they take up too much space in the bag, or they slip off. The tight-fitting bootie style of headcovers are their preference, plus they fit in the golfer's back pocket when he/she is putting. Of the many companies that market these smaller putter covers, the two main designs are a soft neoprene finish, and the leatherette-type of cover. Having used both for a half century, the Ping leatherette versions stand up to wear longer, and stay on the putters better. The little pull tab on the Ping cover is a plus for putting it on, or pulling it off the putter. I have even sewn leather tabs on the soft neoprene covers to upgrade them to the Ping design. Other covers that exhibit similar utility and quality as the Ping are the ClubGlove varieties, particularly with mallet putters.Read full review
