I wrongly assumed this was to replace the old non-replaceable key fob to the new one. But no. Instead, to use this requires new "non-replaceable" batteries and ability to solder new battery onto circuit board. I also had to trim plastic to fit. And there is no easy way to re-open these keys. It works, but was not exactly the job/product I wanted or expected. A "plus" is the BMW badge which looks great and earns an extra star
