Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX300 18.2MP Digital Camera Pros Cons Small and lightweight Viewing Screen poor outdoors Excellent motion stabilization Video audio pickup is just fair Excellent auto focus Auto and SCN features are well done Takes excellent low light pictures Flush buttons prevent accidental pressing Works with tripod if needed 20X optical zoom works well 18.2 MP give very sharp pictures This little camera is a keeper! I have used it now for the best part of a year and have taken it on a vacation. I would consider it a 5 star rating but for the viewing screen performance outdoors. On a cloudy day it can be seen outdoors enough to get by; but, on a sunny day there are times that you can not see what you are taking at all. You have to avoid telephoto and just point and shoot. Luckily the 18.2 MP image allows ample cropping and still gives a very good picture. I am not saying that the view screen doesn't work outdoors, it just has problems in very bright sunlight. I have been very pleased with taking telephoto pictures and video without a tripod as the motion stabilization works amazingly well, as well as stabilization on my much larger and much more expensive camera. The auto focus does an excellent job of locking in on your subject to give a sharp picture. Wild life shots come easy. The preset scene settings do a good job, but the auto features and settings work so well that for the most part that is where I leave it. The "Gold Auto" setting takes very good pictures in low light, indoors and out. It is worth the small extra time wait between pictures to get the better quality picture. The pictures you get have very good contrast and color. Also, I would like to mention that this small camera has a very good flash that works out to 15 ft. with ease. This camera can be mounted on a tripod which helps if you know that you will be using low light or a lot of telephoto. The telephoto is easy to use and at 20X can easily pull in those items that you can not get to close to yourself. I have disabled the digital zoom on mine as it is more magnification than you need to keep the subject in the viewing screen. Also, the digital zoom just crops the size of the picture and this can be done yourself better and more accurate by using many types of software on your personal computer. In conclusion, I feel this is an excellent camera to take on a trip where you don't want to be bothered lugging a large camera around, while you are enjoying the scenery, and still be able to take excellent pictures.Read full review

This camera's 20X limit magnification is better than the DCR-SX85 camcorder 70X.

LOVE this camera. I had an older version of the Cyber-shot and loved it as well. Takes awesome pictures and definitely worth the price!
