It gives clear readings. The response time is rather slow, but the hold button helps. Very good range of temperature . Offers useful safety check when reheating food in a microwave.

It a roughly probe.....
Boiling water according to the probe is anywhere from 85 to 95 degrees. Only got to the 95 after 15 seconds in the boiling water which in my opinion is way too long to have to hold it. It would not be so bad if the Reading of boiling water was consistent I would not trust this device for chicken or other high risk foods if serving two others

I have used it 3 times and seems to work well. The only thing is it doesn't come with information about temperatures but that could easily be obtained. Good value for the money.
