      Great 5000 grit Japanese made quality whetstone. Dense, hardwearing, smooth finish but 23mm thick.

      I liked the 5000 grit polish. Probably needs 20-30minute soak on first use rather than the specified 10minutes. Dense and difficult to get a slurry to start with, but hardwearing it seems, so I'll think of that as a positive. Only 23mm thick....when the Cerax range would otherwise deliver 29mm...I think the manufacturer should consider uniformity in their products and start to deliver some value in product mass given the high expected price. No appreciable metal build up on surface, so did not use the fixing stone for the four knives and razor sharpening/polishing session undertaken.
