These do the job. I tried both ways. I linked some together and I threw some I free style. Both ways they managed to overlap each other somewhat before settling into side by side arrays. I think I prefer free floating. They move around when the fountain is on creating a clearing in the middle. Duck weed clings to them making little rafts that are easy to capture and clean or leave as shelter shades
