"When the imagination of a writer and the passion of a theologian cross-fefertilize the result is a novel on the order of The Shack. This book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan s Pilgrim's Progress did for his. It's that good!" Eugene Peterson, Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Theology, Regent College, Vancouver, B.C., This book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress did for his. It's that good! - Eugene PetersonTHE SHACK is the most absorbing work of fiction I've read in many years. My wife and I laughed, cried and repented of our own lack of faith along the way. THE SHACK will leave you craving for the presence of God. - Michael W. Smith, Recording ArtistThis story reads like a prayer - like the best kind of prayer, filled with sweat and wonder and transparency and surprise. If you read one work of fiction this year, let this be it. - Mike Morrell, Zoecarnate.comReading THE SHACK during a very difficult transition in my life, this story has blown the door wide open to my soul. - Wynonna Judd, Recording Artist

It's very hard for someone who has suffered loss to get through the 1st part of this book, but if you can just push through it it will change your life! The authors did a great job of putting you in the characters shoes, and you feel everything he does. He's angry at the beginning of the book, and frankly wants to give up on the journey before him just like you will want to stop reading. In the end you're very sad the book is over, and you will think about the book often. It's been over a year since I read this book, but I think about it at least twice a month. I bought 5 copies for my friends as Christmas presents. Some things in the book are criticized, but as you grow in Christ you learn to chew up the meat and spit out the bones. If you can't do that then you can really miss out on ...

  • Please read this book.

While the book is fiction, the author writes in such a way that you feel you are there with the man who experiences the weekend with God. As someone who has been a Christian for 57 years, reading this caused me to understand God on a deeper level and evaluate myself and my relationship with Him. A must read!

  • A heavy book with a great deal of healing.

I've read The Shack once before. I found this book to be very healing for me. I had a tragedy hit me when I was a teenager and it has taken years for me to work through. This book helped me a great deal in knowing how much Jesus loves me and that He has been walking beside me all this time. If you've had a tragedy in your life I suggest The Shack.

  • The title is indicative of a very important part of the story.

A different approach to the Holy Trinity. The auther has some unique and valid comments about Christanity. I've read this book three times over the years and enjoyed it each time.
