    Here I Am, Not quite dying.

    This is a wonderful way to announce to the world that not only are you back, you are also back to something near your best. This is a great and unexpected treat from Bowie. He was once referred to as a man of constant surprise and this proves that statement. It contains the great single, Where Are We Now which is a simple but powerful song. There are some plodders and some out and out rockers. The Next Day is a brilliant hark back to Tin Machine days. The imagery and inventiveness that Bowie is renowned for is all here on this album and it lacks very little in songwriting and musicianship. I would have bought this anyway, its a bonus that it is so good. Standout tracks are The Next Day, Valentines Day and Stars Are Out Tonight. Still a force to be reckoned with on this showing.
