Quality scanner
Some portable scanners sacrifice quality or speed, but not the Fujitsu ScanSnap S300. Effortless, quick scanning to folder, print, etc. This scanner can be powered by either USB or AC - I would recommend using AC whenever possible, as it scans much faster (although, USB is still fairly quick). I have never been disappointed by a Fujitsu scanner!

Excellent time saver.
This scanner is as it states a Snap, 16 page feeder and you can add to it as the pages wine down to a few pages. If double sided no need to redo because you have to flip the page it scans both sides at the same time. I can get through a stack of a couple hundred pages in an hour just feeding the machine. The only reason i score it Good and not Excellent is it did/does get stuck feeding sometimes due to if you have small receipts mixed in with full size paper. So you do need to keep an eye on the process but you learn to get around it. It also crops each page which save a massive amount after your done. Well really you don't have to crop anything after your done. Excellent Excellent product, I've been looking for software that would do what this machine can do by default. Once again great ... Great for the price and size
Love this fast double sided, super-small scanner. The pages don't always go through straight because it doesn't have a ton of hardware to hold them in place. It doesn't scan a whole lot of pages at once. I like to keep this on my desktop for regular mail and file management. If I was archiving a lot at once, I would find something more heavy duty. For a portable and small scanner it's wonderful.Love this fast double sided, super-small scanner. Great little device - worth purchasing, no doubt
I have been trying to put together a "paperless" (or as near as possible, anyway) filing solution for the past few years. I had looked at the ScanSnap several times before, but always balked at the cost (might be hard for some to swallow, when you can go in any office store these days and get a multifunction printer with scanner for ~$30). But I finally had to admit that trying to scan all my bills, articles, etc. on a flatbed scanner just wasn't cutting it. I finally went ahead and purchased the ScanSnap, and I've got to say, it is worth every penny and more. I'm edging ever-closer to my "ideal" filing system. One of the "problems", if you want to call it that, is that the ScanSnap opens up so many new options (with searchable PDF creation, and a pretty handy if a bit spartan document ... One of the "problems", if you want to call it that, is that the ScanSnap opens up so many new options (with searchable PDF creation, and a pretty handy if a bit spartan document organization application) that I'm still tweaking things to perfect my own filing "flow". What I like about the ScanSnap: - Small: When it's closed up and not in use, it takes up very little space on my desk. - Simple: Just drop a stack of papers in the sheet feed, hit the scan button, and let it do its work. - Intuitive: The whole flow of scanning, processing, and filing using the ScanSnap scanner and software is pretty self-explanatory. Not really much documentation needed, and tweaking the options to your own liking is pretty simple too. - Low-overhead: I'm doing my scanning and filing from my Toshiba netbook, and it handles everything just fine. Processing the scanned PDF files to make them search-able takes longer I'm sure than it would on a high-end PC, but it's not unbearable. Plus I can have it churn on that later, after I've finished scanning everything. What I don't like: - Not much, honestly. Truthfully, I haven't found anything yet that has soured me on the product. The few annoyances I have run into, I've been able to work around or eliminate by digging around in the options to tweak the defaults. I have had one or two misfeeds, but that's all. Haven't tried the USB-powered portable mode, for now the scanner stays rooted to my desk. But it's great to know that I can pick it up and take it with me to use elsewhere if needed, without untangling the power adapter from the rat's nest of cables at my desk and lugging it with me. I'm sure this will come in handy at some point. All in all, I'm really liking my ScanSnap. It's already eliminated a lot of paper and clutter from my life, and that in and of itself is enough for me to recommend it wholeheartedly.

Great quality, fast, easy to use.
I use a S300 at work for keeping the paper off my desk and LOVE it. I bought this one for home. For anyone who hates paper, this is the key to happiness. It is fast, highly configurable, provides great images, and the software is user friendly. I have used other compact scanners in the past and none compare to the S300.
