An almost perfect sequel for an all-time favorite
Metal Gear Solid (MGS) on the original Playstation started it all. Yes, there have been other games with hints to cinematography, over-the-top machinery and espionage plots, and there even is Metal Gear games before the series made their debut on the PSone. But no one can argue that MSG is the game that really started the franchise and gave the world clones and some sucessful sucessors on the tactical espionage action like Splinter Cell, an excellent game that probably wouldn't exist without MSG. Why I'm talking so much about the original MSG instead of MGS2 on a MGS2 review have a simple explanation. MGS2 existed with the purpose of giving a new Playstation the same experience the original MGS gave to PSone, and in many ways it took everything that made MGS so untouchable and improved ... Some may argue the plot in MGS2 is inferior to it's predecessor, many hated the fact that MGS's Solid Snake isn't the main protagonist this time.. But despite all this, it's still one of the best games the Playstation 2 has in that giant game library.

I am an avid collector of the metal gear series and if you haven't heard of it where have you been?! it is one of the top series of games, but you do not play as 'snake' in this one but it does introduce 'Raiden' who will be starring in his own game on multi console in Oct/Nov 2011, there is a lot of stealth, collectables and action with a great story line even if you haven't played MGS1 it still shows flashbacks so you can still follow what is going on as this is a very story led game, which it does very well, loads of extras and hours of play in this game, which I still play now and in the process of getting the complete collection.I am an avid collector of the metal gear series and if you haven't heard of it where have you been?! it is one of the top series of games, but you do not play as 'snake' in this one but it does introduce 'Raiden' who will be starring in his own game on multi console in Oct/Nov 2011, there is a lot of stealth, collectables and action with a great story line even if you haven't played MGS1 it still shows flashbacks so you can still follow what is going on as this is a very story led game, which it does very well, loads of extras and hours of play in this game, which I still play now and in the process of getting the complete collection.
