Disgaea...is it...?
This animated series follows Laharl, Etna and Flonne in a series of adventures and tons of wise cracks that follows the acclaimed AFTERNOON OF DARKNESS game on Playstation 2 I gave it 4 stars and not 5 even if I wanted to because there was a LOT of changes that was too obvious and too frequent that at times would confuse you. If you never played AFTERNOON OF DARKNESS you'll love every second of it...if you're like me and played the game and saw the anime you know exactly what I'm talking about. Still a solid, solid view I just wished they stood to their guns and not change so much in what AFTERNOON OF DARKNESS was made so great. Maybe with more episodes to flesh out everything at a healthy pace would be great. Feels too rushed since it is all packed into only 12 episodes The trio is fun to ... I'm not one that plays video games and there were complaints that it didn't follow alongside the games but who cares. It's a lot of fun, not so much for small children, but teens through adults can have a blast. I had previously seen the Disgaea series and just when I was considering seeking the episodes out another time at my local video rental place, I stumbled across this bundle. Fans of the games will definitely enjoy Laharl's romp in the netherworld and these few, yet highly enjoyable episodes will certainly draw new people into the video games. Memorable characters from Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness are frequent and, though the plot of the anime is different from the game it is based on, it still maintains its quirky humor that envelopes the games. I was very impressed with the packaging and the images on the CDs are very colorful. Not worth the money.
Um..awful. I was hoping it would be somewhere close to as good as the game, but alas, it was a huge disappointment. A lot of the story was changed so it didn't make sense and the animation sucked. The voices weren't very pleasant, either. They turned Gordon, Jennifer, and Thursday (who weren't my favorite to begin with) into Team Rocket.
