Motley Crue - Live
Motley Crue at their very excessive best. That about sums up this awesome DVD featuring one of the very best rock acts on the planet. Taken from their "Red White and Crue" tour Carnival Of Sins will blow you away. From the opening Crue classic "Shout At The Devil" to the finish with the old Sex Pistols number "Anarchy In The UK" (though they change the words slightly to Anarchy in the USA etc) Vince, Nikki, Mick, and their very own porno star Tommy Lee put on a blistering show that will have you rocking for hours on end. This DVD captures all the visual madness on stage and the great performance from the band themselves. Watch out for the "TommyCam" section, think about it guy's, Tommy Lee running loose with a camcorder and an audience with more than its fair share of beautiful girls, yep ... Mr Rock and Roll as Vince calls him, his guitar work is second to none, and everyone's favorite drummer Tommy Lee gives a performance like you will have never seen before, honestly ! Well have you ever seen someone flying through the air 20 feet up and playing drums ? Check it out !! Grab yourself a copy of this piece of iconic rock history, if you are a Motley Crue fan like me then this is just a must have, if you are not into Crue yet then believe me, watch the DVD and be converted. Just a quick plug for another brilliant Motley Crue DVD to look out for, "Lewd Crued and Tattooed" filmed live in Salt Lake City, no Tommy Lee here and the replacement drummer, Randy Castillo is out "sick" so this Crue DVD features the best female rock drummer in the world today, Samantha Maloney from Hole, check this girl out, you'll see what I mean. Also worth mentioning is Nikki Sixx's new book, "The Heroin Diaries" a great read and a shocking insight into the wildest band on the planets lifestyle. Keep it live, keep it real, and keep on rocking.

The Crue are back!!
Having seen the band on their UK tour last year I was eagerly awaiting the release of this DVD. And I was not disappointed....The Crue are back! If you are a Motley Crue fan you will probably already own the DVD and live album. If you are sitting on the fence, hesitate no longer. The concert film is superb with excellent sound and camera work. When played in 5:1 surround the band sound awesome. The 2hr show is complusve viewing with all the classic Cue tracks making an appearance and sounding fantastic. Extras....these include the animated short film that preceded the live show, new videos and a documentary. All in all a highly recommended package. To start off the show is pretty good, and a pretty good spectacle. Though the band are pretty static throughout the show, the circus show does liven things up though. The song list is good and you get plenty of them, and its a really comprehensive setlist. Bad points though are Vince Neils voice, which is a little weak at times, but he was never the greatest vocalist. in his prime, so I was not too shocked. But there are some downsides to the DVD, and Its is the sound and camera shots. I played this through an expensive surround sound system, which my other music DVD's sound amazing through. Not this one though it sounds awful in surround, it only sounds good in stereo, which is a shame as the visual quality is good. My other gripe is the flamin camera which seems to pan to the crowd ... I dont want to see a load of idiots giving devil horns all the time, some of the ladies are Ok but you get sick of seeing the same ones time and time again. And it quickly becomes very irritating!
