Good family entertainment.
Excellent story lines, good quality actors, filmed in a very nostalgic way,(both movies). No faults or criticism to say about either film. other than they both run well together for both laughs & melodrama.

A superb buy! Both films were excellent, the former was a reflection on the way the speed records progressed upm to supersonic. The latter is a classic based on Salford life in days of old. I recommend it!

Hobson's Choice
Bought this DVD for Hobson's Choice alone. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Laughton and Mills were among the cast, and their performances are exceptional. The film does not follow the play script in detail, but it does stay true to the 'tone' of Brighouse's play, and makes a very good study of 1880s Salford.
