Excellent addition for smartphone photography
Excellent bit of kit and good value from a brand name. The tripod is mostly made from a glass filled composite making it strong and lightweight, with the exception of the mount and ball joint/head which is alloy. It can be used as either a mini tripod or hand held with the legs folded up. It's got nice rubber grips up the legs and designed to give a good, firm grip. There is a single button action to rotate the head in all directions, press it in and set the angle then locks once you take your finger off. The adaptor mount for the smart phone is small, lightweight and folds up small enough to fit in your pocket. Once unfolded it's spring loaded and secures quite nicely to the phone giving a good grip and can also be used with a normal tripod with a standard fitting. The Bluetooth ... The Bluetooth shutter button is handy to have and makes recording so much easier, in photo mode it takes a photo and in video mode it starts and stops the recording. I've seen people claiming the button doesn't work but works just fine, you do not need to install the Joby app for it to work and suspect that might account for it not working for some people as the app is not designed for this product. To pair the app with the phone is easy. Pull the tab out to activate the battery and hold down the button for a few seconds and it will start to flash red. Once it's flashing make sure the phone Bluetooth is on and it will appear in the list as "Joby Shutter" then you just click on that and select pair and that's it. If you need to change the battery at any point just slide the button off the backplate and the tab pulls out to reveal the battery, it takes a standard CR2032 battery which are common and easy to get.

I got this tripod to replace my old one where the legs came loose and tried to tighten it up and still came loose after a while. So I researched it and then came across this one and once I received the product I was quite impressed how it’s made and looks like a well made tough tripod so far I’m loving it.
