Easiest set up I have ever used!

I really like this little extender - I am using it to extend my wifi to our outlying cottage and it works amazingly well - but the best part is how easy it was to set up. Had an apple before this and had to hire someone to install that one - this I did myself in just minutes - and the cottage is at least 100 feet away, but I did run hardwire from my router to it and used the extender to pick it up in the cottage and keep a strong signal in there all the time. Great price too - I actually bought another after I installed this one and was so pleased with it.

Netgear N300 WiFi Extender Does What it Proclaims to Do fairly well for it's size

In brief, the Netgear 300N works as you would expect an extender of this size and formfactor to perform. Overall extension power, while not great, truly does extend your existing service out to a decent distance, so it's safe to say you can feel condident in purchasing this product. My purpose is to to use it from about 15 meters (apx.45 feet) away from my main router in order to push the signal to my TV's Firestick, as to eliminate unnecessary buffering. What can I say, it's worth it if you need that little extra 'bump' in WiFi power. It also features two adjustable attennas to focus maximum WiFi connection to your device. Small formfactor enables you to fit it on a wall jack and still leave open a power socket for other uses (see picture below).

  • Good Product hard to hook up cheaply.

I called netgear to help me hook it up and they told me because it was used I would have to pay $49 for support. After complaining a while they gave me a one time free support which made it worth while and it does seem to work very well. Just check further on if there is a way you can get it going yourself without there help. The directions are vague which made me call them which seems like netgears plan to keep you spending a lot more money than the product itself. I like netgears products but don't like their service and manipulation they like to do to spend more and more money.

  • Does the job

I am a low tech guy so I worried if I was buying the right product or could successfully install it. No worries. I have an upstairs room that I use for harmonica lessons which I get over the internet. These lessons involve videos that can be quite lengthy and I guess the signal from downstairs modem was weak upstairs and it took too much buffering to make the videos effective. I researched and bought this extender and boost the signal it does and now I'm good to go. I followed the installation instructions and it was a smooth and easy process with good results.

  • Great wireless extender except for one nagging problem.

This is a great wireless amplifier for locations beyond the reach of a router. Setup is fairly straightforward from a web browser and it has an ethernet port for plugging in devices like voip phones. It does what it advertises and does it well, but if you use it as an extender, it has to verify every packet being sent from the router so you don't get the same speed you would if you were to plug it into the router with an ethernet cable and use it as an access point. That being said though, the signal strength is great. I went from 1 bar to 5 bars outdoors where I needed it.
