About this product

Product Information

In this highly-anticipated new novel, Diana Gabaldon brings back one of her most compelling characters: the unforgettable Lord John Grey - soldier, gentleman and no mean hand with a blade. Set in the heart of the eighteenth century, Lord John's world is one of mystery and menace. Diana Gabaldon brilliantly weaves together the strands of Lord John's secret and public lives. Capturing the lonely, tormented, and courageous career of a man who fights for his crown, his honor and his own secrets, Diana Gabaldon delivers breathtaking human drama, proving once again that she can bring history to life in a way few novelists ever have.

  • Not quite the same level of intrigue

A good read, with a storyline that gets the attention. The mix of characters and their inter-weaving stories is compelling but not on the same level as the main books. However, the ending was a bit flat for me. These books are meant to be stand alone additions to the main Outlander books, but I would recommend reading them in order to fully understand some of the character relationships.

  • Compelling reading.

Diane Gabaldon is a brilliant writer. I have read most of her 'Outlander' books and enjoy the historical facts she includes.

  • Outlander books

I bought the books of the series, and wanted to see if the dvds followed the books ,so far so good, Books a bit more informative, but that’s to be expected as dvds are condensed ,but still enjoyable to read

  • A good book

The book is great it gives some insider content to the main books.

  • About the story line

This book tells what happens to Jamie Frazer while he’s at Helwater during his time from Claire. Brilliant part of the story which isn’t in the series.
