    Decent Pad at a Great Price

    The Klymit Static V pad is an excellent alternative to the much costier Thermarest Neo Air. At 225lbs., I can lay on my side on this pad and not hit the ground. I will use the pad in combination with the Thermarest Z Sol foldable pad underneath in colder, high altitude hikes, as this pad is not insulated. My initial concern with this pad was its ability to hold air, as it is a refurbished pad. I took the advice of other reviewers here and put a couple drops of mineral oil into the valve opening, which apparently helps maintain the valve and keeps it airtight when closed. I filled the mattress up full capacity, and left it in my closet for a week.     very thin and leaking air

    The pad is lightweight, which is the best part, but it is very thin, doesn't give much insulation. I didn't even sleep on it yet, just inflated it and left alone, and it's already leaking air through the valve. I'm afraid , if I use it to sleep I will end up lying on a ground after a few hours. Maybe a brand new pads are better, but this one was refurbished. I'm going to return it.

    amazing value in a small package!

    I back country camp and moto-camp. So my stuff has to be light weight. And I am ancient, so it has to work or I get cranky. SO I am smiling because the pad works so well. This thing trolls up the size of a soda can, weighs less than a soda can, and the only better sleeping pad system I have found is a mattress in the back of my van.

    Not a ton of experience with other pads, to put my review in perspective. First, the refurbished offering looks new, with no signs of use at all. Very lightweight and packed small. I'm 6'1 210lbs and the length is good. I like to lay on my side while sleeping and while doing so, I was able to slightly touch the ground. This is with inflating it as hard as my lungs come handle. Laying on stomach or back was not an issue. I've looked at other pads and it seems like this is an issue with most of the pads. My wife who is 5'2, 110lbs had no issues. I am going to try the Lux version, which is 0.5 inches thicker and wider to disperse the weight a little better. A quality product overall, for bike packing and other weight conscious activities this will likely be the pad I take.

    Excellent light weight sleeping pad

    The Klymit V sleeping pad is very comfortable, packs small, and is easy to inflate using just lung power. On a recent trip to New Hampshire, the pad kept me comfortable in 25 degree weather, and on a three day trek in Maryland it performed flawlessly.
