Got rid of the algae
This tin contains enough to treat 5000 litres (a pond of 5 cubic metres). Our pond is 1500 litres so we gave it 3 doses. over 3 days, cleaning the foam filters after each day. Day 1, the filters were quite green. Day 2, it really started working, the algae seemed to solidify and the filters were saturated in algae. Day 3 most algae seemed to have gone, the filters were not so clogged and we could see the bottom of the pond.. The problem is, that 3 days later, the pond has gone dark again - it might be more algae or it might be some other cause. We are now looking at an online ultra violet tube and oxygenating plants. To conclude, for the price, it is well worth trying, but only if you have a pump and filters to catch the algae. PS Having now installed a UV tube and oxygenating plants, ... Waste of money
A complete waste of money.I cleaned my pump and filters,tested the water with a tetra test kit. All ok. i followed the instructions to the letter,all that happened was that a very few slightly lighter patches appeared on the surface.I tried a further application 3 days later,no difference whatsoever the water still dark green. I have had fishponds for 50 years and the way to get clear water is to manage it with plants/sunlight/shade.A complete waste of money.I cleaned my pump and filters,tested the water with a tetra test kit.
