    The Black Velvet Gown

    First of all, the price was awesome. Second, I put the dvd in my player just to make sure it played ok and got hooked right away...didn’t want to turn it off (it was late at night) and wait for the next day to finish watching it. So I consider that a five star product!

    The Black Velvet Gown

    Although the main characters are NOT displayed on the cover & I am still wondering why such a small player is......the movie is excellent. It is as good as British lit. gets. I really liked this one. I am used to heady novels such as Edith Wharton's "The Buccaneers". But this is a nice light diversion. You will like this because it has all of the injustice of true English manuscripts. And then finally, true justice. A happy ending........True Anglophiles will appreciate this one. I love so much of Eng. Lit. It gives us an eye into what went on with our 1800's family.

    The Black Velevt Gown

    I saw this on PBS a few years ago and just had to buy it for my DVD collection! The acting is superb! Janet McTeer is awesome as she is in anything she is in! I highly recommend this movie if you enjoy high drama set in Great Btitain pre- 1900's.

    It passed some time by watching this movie. Could be be

    It was a so so story and it fdragged in spots. I would not watch it again. There are too many good ones out there.
