Trowel design defect.
The trowel is well-made, but the design is faulty. The "neck" connecting the trowel blade to the extended handle shaft is too weak, given the extra leverage provided by the long shaft. This means that the thin "neck" bends easily during energetic use of the trowel, and would probably break off with further use. Re-design of the connecting "neck" required.

Long handled garden trowel made by DRAPER.
Very handy tool (especially for ladies who don’t like bending) well made ...trowel part attached strongly and securely to the steel (not wooden) main shaft and has a securely attached black plastic handle.
