A grand MGM musical about a Hollywood star who, as part of a publicity stunt, agrees to be the guest of a young cadet at his military school prom. Probably Lucy's best film according to Desi. The movie is based on a Broadway show and includes such Big Band hits as "Three Men on a Date," "Wish I May," "Buckle Down Winsocki" and "Two O'Clock Jump."

    Best Foot Forward features MGM's star power in World War II

    Released in 1943, Best Foot Forward was released during MGM's power zenith in Hollywood. This technicolor musical portrays all the bravado that made the studio a leader in family entertainment, with the likes of Harry James and newfound star Lucille Ball. She enjoyed a brief heyday in the early 1940's as the lovely to look at redhead. It's the first major performance of future MGM icon June Allyson, Gloria DeHaven and a young comedian, Nancy Walker. The performances are joyous, the dancing in sync in this delightful musical that epitomizes MGM's status as the No. 1 studio in Hollywood!

    Lucy as Lucille Ball

    I bought this one to watch Lucy and hearing the name Lucille Ball being repeated throughout the movie. Her timing is just so spot on. But there's also livewires June Allyson and Nancy Walker to enjoy plus the swing music of Harry James. I do ff through some of the people I haven't any interest in, but I'm still glad I bought it.
