"The Longest Day" is the true story of the events surrounding the 6 June 1944 Allied invasion of Normandy, France. If you pay close attention, you'll be amazed how many stars and future-stars are in this film as leads, seconds, and extras. Fairly massive production and very sweeping in its' tale. It definately belongs in the NTSC VHS film library of all historians and militaria collectors. Note that this is a 1994 release of the film. This movie is Not recommended for children due to the graphic nature of warfare. My reviews are provided with no knowledge of the potential seller.
One of the all time best war film of World War 2 and yes! I have seen this many time in my life time, but only in black & white, never in color. It was so great seeing it in color and work so well in telling the story of D-Day. So even if I have Blu-Ray copy in black & white, I need in color, even if it's in VHS Tape. Great buy for me. 5 star winner in my book.

This is one great B&W production, with a baffling question I have. The above reviews are all relevant, but I want to know why the cast is replete with a who's who in the music world, while there is no singing or music? Were there not enough well know actors in 1962, that they had to tap the likes of Fabian, Trini Lopez and Paul Anka?
Perfect!!

We watched the movie and it was excellent in the colorized version. We can see why it won so many awards. It was full of famous actors! A major Hollywood blow out production.
I LOVE WATCHING JOHN WAYNE MOVIES, ESPECIALLY THE CLASSIC MOVIES. I BOUGHT THIS MOVIE BECAUSE IT WAS IN THE COLORIZED VERSION, THIS MOVIE WAS ORIGINALLY MADE IN BLACK AND WHITE. WATCHING IT IN THE COLORIZED VERSION MAKES IT EVEN MORE SPECIAL.
WE LIKE THIS OLD MOVIE AND THE VHS IS IN COLOR AND FULL SCREEN. THE ONLY DVD I COULD FIND WAS BLACK & WHITE & IN WIDE SCREEN, SO I PURCHASED THE VHS.
I bought it because FOX doesn't offer a colour version on DVD. It's too bad movie buffs have to resort to 70's technology. They could re-launch it in widescreen while there at it. I'll have to ask Bill O'Reilly why they don't, and I will do it by the way! Cheers everybody! (I'm glad to have acquired a factory condition copy, it's a different movie entirely, and I think much more enjoyable)
