The bonnet stay on my Mk4 Mondeo has left a very prominent & ugly rust mark across the plastic panel around the bonnet catch. No more, I removed the stay, cleaned it up & applied a nice yellow 16mm heat shrink sleeve to the area, even looks nice. Note, although I asked the supplier & got no reply, the sleeving does shrink by around 50% in diameter but only slightly on length. I now plan to apply to the locating hook end of the rod to protect under bonnet painted edges.
