Supremes go country
Pop/soul meets country/western. Supremes pull it off. Refreshing to hear Mary, Diana, and Florence singing along together in a few tunes as the trio was meant to do. Not to mention Mary having the opportunity to take lead vocals. Florence also has a verse singing lead and can hear her wonderful voice clearly on many other tunes she performs on (a bonus for Florence Ballard fans like me). Diana provides her brilliant performance as usual. The compilation is excellent and off the beaten path. These renditions are not as known as like their more popular hits. Supremes go country
Pop/soul meets country/western. Supremes pull it off. Can clearly hear Mary (which takes a lead vocal on a couple of tunes verses) and Florence (with her wonderful voice (and great for Florence Ballard fans like me)) singing along with Diana (in all her splendor). I found the music refreshing, fun, and easy to listen to.

needless to say...this is an early Supremes as well as MOTOWN overall company release....I would give it 5 stars....Diane Ross works her butt off on everything from Motown in house songs to standards....Very heavy on B'grnd vocals...and they get a 10+.....Mary and Flo do the shared lead w/ Diane on one cut, MARY leads on SUNSET...this stretches the group and the entire Motown machine prior to the big time hits bust...more RNB than country, and very worthy..needless to say...this is an early Supremes as well as MOTOWN overall company release....I would give it 5 stars....Diane Ross works her butt off on everything from Motown in house songs to standards....Very heavy on B'grnd vocals...and they get a 10+.....Mary and Flo do the shared lead w/ Diane on one cut, MARY leads on SUNSET...this stretches the group and the entire Motown machine prior to the big time hits bust...more RNB than country, and very worthy..
